Beef Cube Steak in the Air Fryer
Ok we know country fried steak and gravy is not a diet friendly dish. But we had to try it in the Air Fryer just to see if we could cut some calories. The answer is..... YES, we cut calories and YES, this was delicious. I would say it's actually better than the "normal way" of making this kind of steak. This is a recipe to have at least once a year. You know, for that time when you really need to address that craving for country fried steak! Air frying is a great way to fix those cravings and not feel as guilty!
Fun twist on Country Fried Steak and Gravy
Growing up we had country fried steak often and usually had creamy buttery mashed potatoes with the steak dinner. And of course the Gravy was made out of the drippings from the fried steak . . .oh childhood food memories are the best. This was one of those recipes that we had to "re imagine" ....and add a few extra minutes of exercise the next day!!! We made Bacon Gravy but this could also be made with sausage gravy, bacon or hamburger gravy.

This recipe is for two people. It can be easily doubled for additional servings. Make the gravy when the steak is cooking in the air fryer. This dinner will take less than 20 minutes to make!!!! Remember all Air Fryers are different sizes. If you can't fit all the steaks into the Air Fryer cook them in shifts. Once the first ones are done place them in a 250 degree oven to keep them warn while the rest are cooking.
Gravy is also delicious with Biscuits as a Sunday brunch! Of course served with Bloody Mary's HAHA!!!! Have fun making Air Fryer country fried steak.

NOTE:
- All types and makes of Air Fryers cook a little different
- For this recipe we used a 1/2 inch Round Steak
- Cook the steak to the temperature you like. We cooked this steak to a medium rare.
- If making Steak fries with the steak. Start the Steak Fries first. The fries take 10 minutes longer than the steak.
